JORGE LUIS SANTOS (Cuba) Santos chooses the architectural reality of his country of origin, Cuba, as inspiration for his series “Cuban Facades”. His urban balconies are based on the decaying cityscape of Havana. Despite an aggressive architectural renovation program funded by UNESCO, the capital’s rich architecture remaining from the old years is reduced to a shell hoping to be turned into Spanish-funded hotels or other sorts of tourist attractions.
